Law & Order
Spinoffs In recent years, big screen actors such as Martin Sheen, Paul Reubens and William Pedersen have all made the big jump to the small screen and the results are in: Network TV is hot! Paul Reubens' summer replacement You Don't Know Jack, has delighted trivia nuts and Pee Wee fans both, and Bill Pedersen's post-mortem crime-drama CSI has brought the self autopsy craze to households across the U.S.! And can anyone forget the spine-tingling eroticism of The West Wing's season finale? Not us. After reading this piece, you will without a doubt find that this is a very high-brow website, and we would give up an evening with TV in a heartbeat if it meant doing something more cultural. In fact, the other day we all skipped out on work and caught a bargain matinee of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues (The Producers was sold out). We were very impressed. The acclaimed yet controversial material lived up to all the hype, and it is no wonder the play has attracted such big name participants as Susan Sarandon, Glenn Close, Whoopi Goldberg, and Mayor Giuliani's wife. After the performance, we reconvened at a nearby pub to take the edge off the day. We were watching the corner TV when we noticed actor Vincent Dinofrio portraying a two-bit cop on the small screen. At first we thought Dinofrio really was a cop, and that we were watching an episode of COPS, but as it turned out it was just a promo of some of NBC's fall programming. It seems that the network is planning yet another Law & Order spin off series entitled Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Predicting the impending demise of reality-based programming, we decided to a create a blockbuster network pilot of our own. Using Law & Order spin-off craze and some of the ever popular Vagina Monologues we thought we could come up with a couple of titles to whet NBC's programming palette. But then we thought that mixing the two would be too easy. Enter the Penis Soliloquies. Instead of using The Vagina Monologues, we are going to combine potential Law & Order spinoffs with the male counterpart to The Vagina Monologues. This is what we have got so far.
